Crime Prevention

The City of Ripon has always been perceived as a safe community. Unfortunately a number of our residents have been victimized by Crime and that perception isn't shared. Even though Ripon is still a relatively safe community, the Ripon Police Department recommends that Citizens take the following common sense approach to the prevention of criminal activity:

1. Lock your home when leaving.
2. Lock your home at night.
3. Lock your vehicle and try not to leave anything of value loose in the vehicle.
4. If a deal seems to good to be true, it probably isn't. Beware of telemarketers, do not give out credit card info or personal information to people who call you on the telephone. Know who your are dealing with. You make the call to make an order over the phone.
5. Report suspicious behavior as soon as possible. Dial 911!
