Ripon Police Department Crime Prevention ProgramsThe Ripon Police Department is dedicated to informing and educating individuals in order to keep them from becoming victims of crime. By entering into a strong relationship with residents and visitors to Ripon we feel we can prevent crime from occurring rather than reacting to a criminal act after it has occurred.

Child Fingerprinting- When requested the Ripon Police Department will assist with "Child Safety" events that help to raise awareness of the dangers present in everyday life. The department offers Child Fingerprinting so that parents can have legible prints of their children at the disposal to help identify children if something should happen to them.

A McGruff house sign is issued to residents that request to be involved in the program. A criminal background check is done on each applicant prior to being issued a sign. There are strict guidelines issued to both children and residents to make sure that the McGruff Houses are used as intended.
